Following the acquisition of US NuCORE's controlling stake in March 2007, MediaTek recently announced it had procured the operational assets of Taiwan-based ElecVision, so as to enhance its mobile phone platform by tapping ElecVision's expertise in CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) sensor and fingerprint sensor technologies. Although the transaction value was not disclosed, MediaTek declared the price was less than NT$300 million (US$9 million; US$1 = NT$33.4), exempting the details of the deal from being released.
